Mount Huaguo, literally meaning "Mountain of Flowers and Fruit", is located in northeastern China. Pictured in this scene is a waterfall, behind which lies "Water Curtain Cave", the fictional birthplace of the Monkey King of the ancient Chinese epic "Journey to the West". This piece is part of the set which includes "LiJiang Scenery" and "Tall Mountains, Long Rivers"--all three pieces complement one another in their depiction of beautiful Chinese scenery in similar style.
