Care
This unique vase shape was created by a Qing Dynasty emperor for expressing appreciation and reward, giving way to this particular vase shape being named a "reward vase". The body is covered with lotus scrolls with a pattern of banana leaves decorating the neck. A metaphor for purity, loyalty and a noble character, the lotus holds important cultural significance in Chinese art and is a symbol of high esteem. Created in 1/4 silk thread, this still life piece displays a surreal lifelike quality with brilliant colors and subtlety in shadows and detail.
