Good Fortunes to Come
Details & Dimensions
This piece features a pair of magpies perched on a branch of plum blossoms coming into bloom. Blossoming in early spring despite the cold winter snow, plum blossoms signify resilience and herald welcome news. Magpies too are thought to be messengers of good news, traditionally known as "birds of good fortune". In a pair they represent the "double happiness" of married couples. Magpies amongst flowering plum blossoms combine to form the perfect augury of good fortune on the way -- even more so for couples.
