Because the cover of this pot resembles an army generals helmet, it is referred to as a "Generals Pot" and has come to represent great courage and vision. This particular piece was created as a gift for a 19th century Qing Dynasty emperor. The cloud patterns adorning it represent wealth, good fortune, and wishes for a happy life. Created in 1/4 silk thread, this still life piece displays a surreal lifelike quality with brilliant colors and subtlety in shadows and detail.
